Gardening in Sacramento, CA

Gardening in Sacramento is mature shrubs in Land Park and East Sacramento, or a small Midtown bed. Summer heat knocks out annuals that were planted into a dry irrigation skip. This visit does not repair the sprinkler clock.

Yard & Garden

What this usually looks like in Sacramento

Areas people book from in Sacramento: Midtown and downtown, East Sacramento and River Park, Land Park, Curtis Park, and Hollywood Park, Tahoe Park, Oak Park, and Elmhurst, Natomas, Pocket and Greenhaven. The full housing notes for those neighborhoods are on the Sacramento city page, so this page stays on the visit itself.

Put the neighborhood in the job note. Your street address is shared only with you and the pro you book or the quote you accept. It is not posted on an open job.

TaskBond is a marketplace for independent pros. It is not a licensed contractor, and these pages are not an offer of licensed contractor work. An unlicensed pro cannot take a TaskBond job of $1,000 or more. Work that needs a building permit is outside these bookings. No pesticide license is claimed. No tree removal, no masonry, no irrigation install, and no unlicensed job of $1,000 or more.

  • Weed and lightly prune shrubs in Land Park or Curtis Park.
  • Plant starters you bought for an East Sacramento bed.
  • A small Midtown or downtown courtyard, pots included if listed.
  • Mulch in a Pocket bed, bags already on the driveway.

Price guidance

These are catalog examples already on TaskBond, not a quote and not a survey of local rates. The pro sets the price. You see it, plus a 9% service fee and a 4% booking protection fee, before you pay.

  • Gardening: example from $60.00 per hour

An unlicensed pro cannot take a TaskBond job of $1,000 or more. Every example above is under that cap. A larger quote needs a pro who can legally take it.

What's included

  • Weeding, trimming, and planting that fit the hours you booked.
  • The beds you point out.
  • Green waste bagged or piled as the quote says.

What's not included

  • Any claim of a pesticide license. TaskBond does not make one.
  • Tree removal, masonry, and irrigation installation.
  • An unlicensed job of $1,000 or more.

How to prepare

  1. List the beds and what 'done' means: weeds pulled, shrubs shaped, or plants put in.
  2. Have the plants and soil on site if you want them installed.
  3. Flag irrigation heads and anything freshly planted.
  4. Provide water access.

Typical time

Gardening is hourly. A typical bed or two often takes about 1–2 hours. A full yard of overgrowth is several hours or a cleanup booking instead.

Checklist

  • Which beds
  • Plants already purchased, if any
  • Water spigot
  • What not to spray or pull

How TaskBond works

Payment is held until you confirm the work.

This is a payment hold, not a workmanship warranty and not an insurance policy. TaskBond does not promise the job will be redone, and it does not promise a pro will answer by a set time.

  1. 01
Book a pro or post a job

Book someone at the price they set, or post the work and accept one quote. You see the price before you pay.

  2. 02
    Payment stays on hold

The card is charged when you book or accept. The pro keeps 100% of their price. You pay a 9% service fee and a 4% booking protection fee on top. The payout stays held until you confirm.

  3. 03
    Photo, confirm, or dispute

The pro uploads a completion photo. Confirm to release payment, or open a dispute within 72 hours. If you do neither, the hold releases 3 days after completion.

If something is wrong

Open a dispute from the booking within 72 hours after the pro marks it complete. The payout stays on hold while the dispute is open. If you cannot do that in the app, email support@thetaskbond.com with the booking. Cancel before the pro accepts, or if the pro cancels, and the refund is full. Cancel after acceptance with less than 24 hours until the appointment, or after the pro has arrived, and a $59 trip fee applies, capped at the quote.

Response times

TaskBond does not publish a response-time promise. A pro accepts, declines, or sends a quote when they choose. If a paid booking is still unaccepted after 48 hours, the payment is refunded. Support email is read by the operator. There is no stated same-day support window.

Frequently asked questions

Will new plants survive a Sacramento summer?

Only if they get water after the visit. The pro can plant them. The irrigation schedule is yours. Do not expect a guarantee that a plant lives through July.

Do you design landscapes?

No. A pro can weed, plant what you bought, and lightly prune shrubs you point at. A full design-build yard is a licensed landscape project and is outside this booking.

Who buys the plants?

You, unless the quote lists a nursery run and a budget. Specific varieties should not be left to chance.
